Transposition of the Great Arteries and Fetal Cardiology Case Reviews
Transposition of the Great Arteries and Fetal Cardiology Case Reviews is organized by The Pediatrix Center for Research, Education, Quality and Safety (CREQS).
Date & Location:
Thursday, May 12, 2022, 8:00 AM - Sunday, May 11, 2025, 11:59 PM
Overview:
The Fetal Cardiology Conference and Case Review will discuss pertinent (emergent) topics for fetal cardiology clinicians and highlight interesting features to aid in learning anatomical differences and the pathophysiology of heart defects. The purpose is to improve the communication amongst the perinatology team and delivery teams thereby decreasing emergency interventions, such as anticipating a need for an atrial balloon septostomy as opposed to a high-risk neonatal delivery leading to an emergent situation, ensuring optimal staff presence regarding deliveries, and so forth. This improved communication will aid in the decrease in morbidity and mortality among high risk patients as clinicians provide excellent, evidence-based care through using the latest evidence-based research and technology.
ACCME Objectives:
• Discuss the anatomical differences and the pathophysiology of fetal heart defects.
• Execute evidence-based care to aid in the decrease in morbidity and mortality among high risk patients
ANCC Learning Outcomes:
• Discuss the anatomical differences and the pathophysiology of fetal heart defects.
• Execute evidence-based care to aid in the decrease in morbidity and mortality among high risk patients.
