Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
• List signs, symptoms, and diagnostic criteria for acute ischemic stroke based on the 2021 AHA Stroke Guidelines
• Assess vascular risk factors in diverse patient populations
• Identify appropriate indications for antithrombotic use in stroke prevention for persons with atrial fibrillation
• Apply treatment recommendations for secondary stroke prevention using the updated 2021 AHA Stroke Guidelines
• Formulate evidence based recommendations for treating persons after an acute ischemic stroke
