Due to rapidly changing evidence, newly available scientific drugs, and best practice guideline updates, management of cancer patients has become a major challenge for healthcare practitioners (Berardi et al., 2020). This course will discuss the evolution of radiation oncology as a specialty, including the technologies of SBRT, SRS, and proton beam therapy. Training aspects of radiation oncologists and associated disciplines will also be delineated. The radiation therapy patient's journey is also examined, including the time after completion of treatment.
