Course Description:
The Preceptorship in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry program is designed for dentists interested in increasing their knowledge and experience in periodontics and implant dentistry. The Program offers didactic training as well as clinical exposure and observation.
Course Objectives:
Philosophy:
To create opportunities to expand the depth of knowledge in periodontics and implant dentistry. This is accomplished by participating in post-graduate periodontics didactic courses, hands-on and clinical activities along with the residents. Participants will be learning skills to evaluate the literature and translate that knowledge to evidence-based practice. Clinical activities are limited to observation and assistance in the planning and execution of non-surgical and surgical procedures. They will interact with other specialists and treatment planning sessions in a multidisciplinary approach. Preceptors will have the opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research activities ongoing at the Department of Periodontology.
