Objectives:

• Identify risk factors for the development of peripheral arterial disease (PAD).
• Calculate the ankle-brachial index (ABI) and identify the cut-point for the diagnosis of PAD.
• Summarize guideline recommendations for reduction of cardiovascular events in patients with PAD.
• Formulate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic recommendations for patients with PAD.
• Design an appropriate treatment regimen for the management of PAD given a patient case.
