Course Overview:
Following attendance candidates will be able to record an ECG correctly and start to develop interpretation skills. The course includes supervised practice in recording a 12 lead ECG.
Course Content:
• Anatomy & physiology of the heart
• Conduction system
• Recording a 12 lead ECG
• Lead placement
• Troubleshooting
• Practical session
• The ‘normal’ ECG
• Introduction to interpretation skills recognising
• Ischaemia
• Acute Myocardial Infarction
Course Aims and Outcomes:
• Understand relevant anatomy and physiology of the heart
• Place ECG electrodes in the correct position
• Recognise a ‘normal’ ECG
• Have an understanding of some common abnormal ECG’s.
