Swiss Society for Radiology (SSR) / Schweizerische Gesellschaft fur Radiologie (SGR)

The Swiss Society for Radiology SGR-SSR connects around 1050 specialists who deal with radiological imaging procedures and image-guided minimally invasive interventions.
As a professional society, the SGR-SSR represents the political concerns and interests of its members, society as a whole, and the entire discipline towards the Swiss Medical Society (FMH), the authorities, other professional societies, and third parties.
The professional exchange of ideas among radiology specialists is very important nationally and internationally. All members of the SGR-SSR are also members of the FMH (Association of Swiss Doctors), fmCh (Association of Surgical and Invasive Doctors), UEMS (Union Européennes des Médecins Spécialistes), ESR (European Society of Radiology) and the ISR (International Society of Radiology).
The main objective of the company is to ensure the correct application of the most modern radiological procedures for the benefit of patients. This includes diagnostics in the event of illness or an accident, as well as preventive medical examinations, as well as therapeutic and/or minimally invasive measures. With its activities, the SGR-SSR optimizes the costs of diagnostics and treatment and ensures that resources are used optimally. Particular attention is paid to patient safety with regard to radiation protection.
