International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (ISSX)
The International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics (ISSX) is the premier scientific organization for researchers interested in the metabolism and disposition of xenobiotics. ISSX was formed in 1981 when a small group of scientists, brought together during the 1970's under the aegis of the Gordon Research Conferences on Drug Metabolism, created an international society to promote the interaction of scientists dedicated to the study of xenobiotics in living systems.
ISSX has an international base of members from more than 45 countries. Members are comprised fairly evenly between academic and industry groups and consist primarily of research scientists and future scientists in toxicology, pharmacology, molecular biology, and other disciplines related to the study of xenobiotics.
Objectives:
• Foster and encourage inter-disciplinary, innovative science relating to the disposition, metabolism and biological effects of drugs and other xenobiotics.
• Facilitate the association of scientists from all geographic regions in this field and related disciplines.
• Disseminate and discuss the results of research and related matters of interest.
• Promote education and training in this field.
