Chilean Society of Radiology / Sociedad Chilena de Radiologia (SOCHRADI)

The Chilean Society of Radiology was created in 1942 by a group of radiologists in order to promote the development and good practices of Radiology in the country. Currently, it has 513 members who represent approximately 77% of national radiologists.
Their group encourages the meeting and professional growth of its members, through active participation in various academic activities of the specialty. It also acts as a reference and consultation entity in matters related to diagnostic imaging in the country's health policies.
Mission:
SOCHRADI, as a non-profit scientific and union organization, promotes the development of Radiology in Chile, through teaching activities and through permanent collaboration with public agencies, in order to strengthen the proper exercise of the specialty and generate better health care for people.
Vision:
Diagnostic Imaging or simply Radiology is a Medical Specialty that, through images obtained by different techniques, allows a diagnosis of the pathology that affects a patient to be established.
Their vision is to project the Chilean Society of Radiology as a scientific and trade association that represents, guides and monitors the correct exercise of the specialty, seeking to improve quality standards in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease through images. . But also, play a relevant role in the discussion about current and future public health policies related to the specialty.
Specific Objectives:
• Strengthen the development and protection of the medical specialty of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging.
• Represent the interests of its associates before public and private organizations that have a direct or indirect relationship with the
specialty.
• Protect and disseminate the scientific, academic, technical and educational interests that directly or indirectly affect the medical
members of this society.
• Collaborate with public and private organizations in the implementation of health policies and programs related to the specialty.
• Hold regular meetings, organize congresses, courses, seminars, symposiums and other forms of continuing education and scientific
research for the improvement of the partners.
• Actively participate in the process of certification and recertification of specialists in Radiology.
