Overview:
This presentation demonstrates how the use of small diameter implants offer the opportunity to provide implant-retained overdentures, without additional surgery, to patients who would otherwise require surgical procedures to augment bone prior to implant placement. Success rates, potential patient benefits, and patient satisfaction are discussed. This minimally invasive solution is a great place to start for the general practitioner who wishes to add implant placement to their practice. Practical tips will be provided to allow the viewing Dentist to feel confident in using these techniques immediately. CBCT used to facilitate the fabrication of a surgical guide will be introduced as well as 2 cases where a surgical guide is used to place the mini implants for an overdenture is thin atrophic bone.
