Course Description:
The Department of Restorative Sciences and Public Health Dentistry at Nova Southeastern University is pleased to initiate a preceptorship program that is designed to educate early career or experienced dentists in operative dentistry, adhesion, esthetic dentistry, preventive dentistry, digital dentistry, evidence-based dentistry, and treatment planning.
The program aims to provide the opportunity to improve knowledge, become standardized with the latest advancements in the field of restorative dentistry and be acquainted with the academic environment in the United States.
Course Objectives:
Prospective participants will have lecture and lab core courses that are custom designed to provide extensive knowledge in various areas of restorative dentistry. A major portion of the program is dedicated to trainings that will develop hand skills for posterior and anterior direct and indirect partial-coverage restorations. These restorations will include but not limited to esthetic composite restorations, resin-chairside veneers, CAD/CAM inlays/onlays, diastema closure, digital smile design, anterior fracture cases, amalgam restorations, core buildups and complex direct restorations. There will also be one-on-one sessions that focus on the treatment planning, digital planning, and patient management of complex cases. Evidence-based dentistry search and data extraction procedures will be included as a basis for the literature review process.
