Telehealth has become more prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Social determinants of health may increase a patient’s risk for contracting COVID and their ability to recover. Social determinants of health can also have an impact on a patient’s ability to access telehealth services. This module will explore the social determinants of health and how they might impact a patient’s COVID risk and ability to access healthcare via telehealth.
Objectives :
After completing this module, the participant will be able to:
• Examine the social determinants of health.
• Discuss how the social determinants of health affect the risk of a patient contracting and recovering from COVID.
• Discuss how social determinants of health impact a patient’s ability to access healthcare via telehealth.
