Course Description:
Head and Spinal Injuries are some of the most devastating injuries to occur to individuals while traveling in the wilderness, and need rapid evaluation and treatment for positive outcomes. This course will help you gain a better understanding of these injuries, inspiring confidence in the outdoors.

Objectives: 
The purpose of this module is to help you develop a process that will allow you to overcome obstacles and provide the patient(s) with the appropriate care.

Upon completion, students should be familiar with:
• Know basic brain anatomy
• Recognize and manage common head injuries
• Know basic spine anatomy
• Know common mechanisms of how spinal cord is injured
• Be familiar with initial management of suspected injuries
