50th Annual USC Internal Medicine for PCPs and Subspecialists Topics: Rheumatology and Immunology, Hematology, Nutrition, GI/Liver is organized by Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and will be held from Apr 17 - 20, 2023 at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort And Spa, Lahaina, Hawaii, United States of America.,Description:,This four-day course provides participants with a series of interactive lectures by USC faculty experts spanning a wide array of contemporary and important topics for primary care practitioners and specialists and special, more intimate, roundtables in which participants engage our faculty experts with questions arising from their own practices. Lecture presenters use an anonymous electronic audience response system to promote active learning among participants and to enable group reflections on case studies and challenging clinical questions in real-time. Participants will be able to attain new and practical knowledge for integration into their clinical practices to improve patient care and patient care outcomes.,Course Objectives:,By the end of the course, participants will be able to: ,• Interpret diagnostic tests and determine treatment approaches for rheumatologic problems in primary care and specialty practices: impact on pregnancy, serologies, SLE, Sjogren's, fibromyalgia, gout, back pain, RA, polymyositis, hypermobility, spondyloarthropathies, autoinflammation, and psoriatic arthritis.,• Adapt current guidelines and evaluation strategies to diagnose and treat common issues in gastroenterology: IBS, GERD, and defecatory disorders.,• Address nutrition and dietary issues in primary care: intermittent fasting diets, obesity, and geriatric nutrition.,• Apply the latest evidence in the management of common immunologic conditions: rhinosinusitis, asthma, urticaria, angioedema, mast cell activation syndrome, and drug and food allergies.,• Provide evidence-based approaches to common hematologic conditions: iron deficiency and replacement, cell line elevations, cytopenias, and monoclonal gammopathy.
